For the tourist, Inverness is a great touring base with roads that radiate out in all directions. From here you can easily explore the rich history of the Moray coast, the wilderness and ancient forests of Glen Affric, the rural tranquility and timeless villages of the Black Isle, the coastline and castles of Caithness, or go monster hunting at nearby Loch Ness.
