Oban Accommodation

About Oban area

Oban is the principal town of the Argyll area and its harbour is busy with ferries sailing to the Hebrides. The town is a popular tourist destination, but a lot of the people who visit Oban are just passing through on their way to the islands. We would recommend that you take time to stay here for a few nights as there is a great variety of day trip possibilities to consider.

One of the great appeals of Oban is the number of Islands that you can explore from here as a day trip. But you don’t need to catch a boat to find places of interest. Within an hour’s drive of Oban you can discover castles, a sea life sanctuary, botanic gardens, excellent cycle paths and one of the highest concentrations of Neolithic sites in Scotland.

And if you don’t want to drive, you can simply stay in Oban to sample the produce of the town’s whisky distillery, brewery, chocolate maker and many excellent seafood restaurants.

Our accommodation recommendations in the Oban area extend along the Argyll coast from the quiet Isle of Seil in the south, through Oban and north to the little seaside village of Port Appin.
