Cardhu Distillery

Overview

Cardhu is situated in open countryside on the B9102 which runs almost in parallel with the main A95 road between Grantown on Spey and Craigellachie. From Grantown it is about 17miles and from Craigellachie about 7miles. If you drive along the B9102 you can’t fail to find the distillery as it is easily visible from the road.

Whisky distilling has taken place here legitimately since 1824, but illicit distilling on this site would have started long before that date. Perhaps the site was chosen because anyone approaching to search for illegal stills would have been easily visible.

Children under 8yrs are not allowed in production areas.

Please Note: if you pre-book a tour, you need to arrive 15 mins before the tour start time. If you arrive later than that, your slot may be allocated to someone else.
