Glengoyne Distillery

Overview

Glengoyne is built on the site of what was originally an illicit still which used the waterfall behind the distillery as its source. To save rolling barrels across the road outside the distillery there is an underground whisky pipeline!

There is a recently refurbished “Sampling Room” whose walls are lined with an array of bottles that contain Glengoyne whiskies at different stages of maturation.

For the dedicated whisky enthusiast, there is the specialised "Malt Master Experience" for £100. This tour features an in-depth tour of the distillery followed by a tutored tasting session where you are guided by the "Malt Master" to select and blend your own customised Malt whisky that is then bottled for you. A treat for someone with a whisky passion and they get to go home with a 200 ml bottle of whisky that is unique to them.

During July 2024, the distillery is running a new family friendly storytelling tour of Glengoyne’s historic distillery grounds, incorporating the old cooperage, the No.1 Warehouse, and the Distillery Manager’s House. The tour ends in the distillery tasting room with a dram of Glengoyne 10 Year Old and Glengoyne 15 Year Old Highland Single Malt Whiskies, followed by a special serve of ‘Honey Bee’ - an exclusive whisky based summer cocktail.
